In a long career in law with expertise in electrical engineering, attorney Thomas Wettermann has established a successful record of business development, sales management, and new-client generation for a number of Fortune 100 and 500 clients. Most recently an equity partner with the Chicago law firm of McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff, LLP, Thomas Wettermann oversaw the development of technically complex patent portfolios for clients, including world-renowned pharmaceutical companies, in addition to leading litigation related to patent, trademark, and copyright matters.

After earning a bachelor of science in electrical engineering and a bachelor of arts in German languages from Marquette University, Thomas Wettermann received an MBA from the University of North Carolina, where he was a member of the National Business Honor Society. He then attended law school at DePaul University with a DePaul Law Grant and an intellectual property scholarship. He began his career as a district sales and marketing engineer with the Eaton Corporation, followed by five years as an associate attorney with Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione.

These days, Mr. Wettermann is a consultant in the field in machine learning and data science, primarily as a patent analyst. Meanwhile, in his free moments, he enjoys coding, gardening and working on home repairs.
